MD-PhD Program
The Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) provides integrated graduate training in scientific research and clinical medicine, leading to a combined MD-PhD degree. The program is funded in part by a grant from the National Institutes of Health, MSTP T32 GM140935.
About the Program
We aim to produce physician-scientists who will make major contributions to the understanding and improvement of human health. As a student, you will benefit from UW–Madison’s status as a world-class research institution.
Our program draws from the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and the UW–Madison Graduate School to provide remarkable resources and opportunities for both medical education and graduate research training.

The MSTP Summer Scholars program offers a focused summer research opportunity to undergraduates interested in pursuing an MD-PhD dual degree, complete with MD-PhD admissions workshops, advising, clinical shadowing and professional development.
